Happy Valentines Day

A Word from the President...

January's meeting was a success with our guest speaker Shari Molchan's presentation "It's Not About the Money - It's About Your Life". We enjoyed two Member Spotlights and will continue to feature two members each meeting.  If you haven't signed up already for a Member Spotlight, get in touch with Victoria Yates and she will put you on the list.

This month we welcome back one of our own Campbell Riverites, Ann Marie Edrup and her presentation "A Lesson in Leadership". It is also Mardi Gras month, so look forward to Evelyn's spectacular table decorations. For those that wish to wear a festive mask, you are more Corrine Mathesonthan welcome to.  We will be treated to a great buffet featuring roast beef, chicken, pork ribs and all the fixings. Come one out and get some networking in, get to know the members, and let your face be known...that's what networking is all about.  Hope to see you all at the next meeting.

Cheers, Corinne Matheson

What do you do?

I am the owner/operator of a successful business, Stereo fitness.  I am a certified fitness professional with an amazing team of 5 front desk, 7 child minders, 2 personal trainers, and 19 fellow instructors. We provide a co-ed social environment for people  to come together and enjoy group fitness, meet new friends, and get lost in themusic. We pride ourselves on our quality classes that make our members Raving Fans!

Why do you do it?

When I moved to CR, I was unable to find a local gym that fit my ideas or morals of what a gym should be.  I decided that I would have to create it in order to continue doing what I loved.  We provide an outlet to help members deal with the mental and emotional ups and downs in life. This is why Stereo Fitness has become so much more to people than just a "gym".  Sometimes stress needs to be released, and boy, do we have classes that can do that!  We also help find that inner diva that has been lost or is dying to come out and that is an amazing thing to witness. This is why I do what I do!

What are your passions?

I am very passionate aobut fitness, but that's a given! I am also passionate about the community that I live in.  I believe it is so important to build a strong community and help others in need.  I will go out of my way to help a homeless person on the street, even if it's as simple as given them food or just asking them if they are okay.  Every person on the street is someone's son or daughter and I feel we shouldn't judge since we don't know what circumstances have lead them down their path.  Steroe Fitness also donates our time to causes and fundraisers in the community.

What is your personal and professional philosophy?

Stereo Fitness is an extension of who I am. I believe in sinerity and honesty.  I believe in treating my staff, members and those around me with respect an ddignity.  I don't believ ein taking advantage of people to make money.

What makes your buisness different?

Stereo Fitness is different because of many reasons. We will work hard to keep you as a raving member. We don't need to lock members into a contract because we want them coming to us because THEY WANT TO; this is why we are month to month!  We also do this becuase sometimes members fall into financial hardships or injuries. I don't believe in taking membership dues from those who can no longer afford it or become ill.  We are the only gym on the island that pays a license fee to have BTS classes! This guatantees top notch, professional programs that are both safe, effective, and fun! We provide fitness classes for all ages, starting from ages 4 to forever! We are co-ed. We have an amazing feel that extends beyond our walls and a great reputation. We have no boundaries and have been approached by schools, special needs organizations, multicultural organizations and Quadra Island to do programs. We are constantly upgrading our training and improving our programs.

What is your definition of success?

I think success is defined by your reputation. A great reputation is what will draw outsiders in and want to be a part of it.  Word of mouth can either make or break you.

What do you do for fun?

I have fun every day at work with all that great music and feel good endorphins! Away from work? My family and I are big Disney World fans!
